Still staring at that 69 L89 on the streetroads-classiccars.com site, boys. Looks damn good, price seems almost too good. Anybody actually bought from them lately? How were the car, title, and shipping?

I bought a 70 LS6 from that Texas place this summer. Deal was straight, no hidden fees, they treated me normal, not like some rich guy. Title was clean, no lien, walked into BMV and had it in my name same day. You're gonna love it if that L89 is as nice as the pics.

Nice. How much was your shipping and was it open or enclosed? Trying to see if I'm dumb for paying extra on a ZL1 clone. They give you any discount or stick to the sticker?

Did enclosed, TX to KY was like 1,200 give or take. Open would've been around 800 from what they said. They knocked maybe a grand off the price, nothing crazy. Driver even rolled with me to the tag office and waited while I did paperwork.

I grabbed a 65 GTO Tri-Power from them, drove in myself. Place was basic, no fancy showroom crap, but guys were decent. Car matched the pics, only issue was a dead dome light, ten minute fix. I drove it 3 hours home, temp and oil pressure were fine.

That sounds about right for Texas barns lol. How far you drive it home and did it stay cool on the highway? I'm eyeing their RA IV Judge and wondering if I should ship or just send it on a good old road trip. Also, did they try to tack on any 'doc' or BS fees when you paid?

I bought a 70 Boss 429 there last year. Flew in, they picked me up, pretty laid back crowd. We checked it on the lift, quick drive, only thing we tightened was a loose battery hold down. Drove 4 hours home, no drama, car ran cool. My wife keeps sneaking out just to sit in it 😂

That's awesome. How long did the whole deal take, like in and out in an hour or half a day? And did they try any 'market adjustment' BS or just sold it for the number on the ad?

Got a 69 Baldwin Motion style Camaro from them, did enclosed. Truck showed up in about 7 days, car rolled off clean, no leaks, no scratches. Driver had fender covers and took his time, seemed to care. Title was 100% clean, he even went into DMV with me and waited around while I got my plate.

How much did you pay for enclosed and what would open have been, if they told you? I shipped my L78 Nova open once from them and it was like 900 bucks, car was just dusty, no big deal. Just trying to see if the extra coin for enclosed is worth it or just rich-guy stuff.

I've got a 71 GS Stage 1 from them, picked it up in person. Shop's nothing fancy but they treated me fine, let me poke around as long as I wanted. Price was close to asking, they helped a little on shipping. Title was clean, we went to BMV and got it in my name same day, no lien crap.

Same here with my 70 W-30, man. Did enclosed , paid like 1,400 and it showed up in about a week. No surprise fees, what they quoted is what I paid. They even kept the car for about a week till I cleared space in the garage, didn't charge storage.

I bought a Yenko-style 69 Camaro there. Drove it home, about 5 hours. Car ran straight, stayed cool, no weird shakes. Only thing I found was one dash bulb out, cheap fix. Gas stops took forever cause folks kept asking 'what year is it?' 😂

Love it. Did they make any discounts off asking price or was it pretty firm because of how rare those things are? Thinking about a 1971 Buick GS Stage 1 they've got and trying not to get totally bent over on the deal lol.

Ok so sounds like 1k–1.5k for enclosed out of Texas is normal. Not as bad as I thought honestly. I'll prob just do enclosed on mine if I pull the trigger, hate the idea of rock chips before it even hits my driveway.

When I finally went and drove that RA IV Judge, they actually let me get it up on the highway for a few miles, didn't say a word when I rolled into it a bit to see if the secondaries were really working. Car tracked straight, no shakes, temp stayed right where it should, so I knew at least the basics were squared away. Didn't buy it that day cause my brain said no while my heart screamed yes, but after hearing all these stories I'm starting to think I was an idiot for walking away.

Kevin, your quote sounds right in the pocket. My enclosed was right around 1,500 like you said, open was just under a grand, so that 40–60% bump folks always talk about is pretty dead on. I just didn't wanna roll the dice on fresh paint and stripes, so I sucked it up and paid the baller tax. For what it's worth the driver treated the car like it was his, even asked if I minded him taking a quick pic for his 'coolest cars I've hauled' folder 😊

Paperwork on my GS was maybe an hour. We talked cars more than we signed stuff honestly. No 'market' fees, just tax and doc. Burned a lot of gas on the way home cause I couldn't keep my foot out of it 😤

Delta, one more dumb question, man. Did they make you wire the whole amount or would they do a cashier's check? My bank's a pain in the ass with big wires. Trying to see what I'm in for before I fall in love with something on their site.

Yeah, that 1k–1.5k range seems to be the sweet spot from Ohio, especially if you're going more than a few states over. Anything less and I start wondering what corners they're cutting. I just chalk it up as part of the price of playing with old iron.

Update time - just shook the driver's hand at the tag office, boys. She's officially mine. 69 L89 looks and sounds badass. Title was clean, no drama, driver waited while I got the plate then followed me home. Thanks to all of you, this place is gold 🚗❤️
